    從 1998 年到 2007 年 ， CBETA 先後完成了《大正藏》及《卍續藏》兩套極為重要的佛教藏經數位化作業 ：

    • 1998-2003 ：完成《大正藏》本文及校勘，共 2373 經、 8982 卷，約 78,770,000 字。
    • 2004-2007 ：完成《卍續藏》本文及校注，共 1229 經、 5060 卷，約 71,220,000 字。

    這是一個總字數超過 1 億 5 千萬字的 漢文佛典 資料庫，有很高的文字正確度，且全部以符合 TEI 標準的 XML 語言標記，又有方便好用的各類檢索功能，已成為國際學界、教界不可或缺的研究及修學工具。

    CBETA 除了每年將成果放在網站上供人下載利用，同時也將經文資料 及讀經軟體工具 製成光碟供人索取，目前平均每年至少有一萬份的光碟發行量，這些完全都是無償免費提供。 透過以下歷年光碟版本的圖文展示，讓我們回顧 CBETA 的發展歷程以及十年來佛典數位化的腳步。

    1999.01 《大正藏 5-10 冊》

    界面： HTMLHelp, IE

    • 運用 HTML Help ，具有目錄、索引、書籤、全文檢索、引用複製、佛學辭典查詢等功能。
    • 缺字處理：採用日本「今昔文字鏡」之編碼、字形及圖檔。
    • 附丁福保《佛學大辭典》。

    1999.01 《Taisho Tripitaka Vols. 5-10》

    Interfaces：HTMLHelp, IE

    • HTMLHelp: offered Catalogs, Indices, Bookmarks, Full-Text Search, Citation, and Buddhism Dictionary search functions.
    • Missing Characters: introduced Mojikyo (courtesy of Mojikyo Institute, Japan) fonts to display Gaiji characters.
    • Appendix: Ding Fubao Dictionary.
